Privacy policy

Last updated 4 August 2026

This policy explains what this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It is written to be read rather than to be impressive.

What we collect

When you create an account we store your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number, along with a cryptographic hash of your password. We never store the password itself and cannot recover it.

When you publish a listing we store everything you enter about that property, including the full street address even where you choose not to display it publicly.

When you send an inquiry we store your name, email address, any phone number you supply and your message, together with the listing it relates to.

Our server keeps ordinary request logs. To throttle repeated sign in and signup attempts we store a one way hash of the network address a request came from, not the address itself.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
  • We do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks.
  • We do not run third party advertising trackers on this site.

Who sees your information

An inquiry about a specific listing is sent to Highlands Realty and to the seller of that listing, because answering you is the point of sending it. A general inquiry goes to the brokerage only.

Your account details are visible to you and to the brokerage. Other users of the site do not see your email address or phone number unless you put them in a message.

We use service providers to run the site: a hosting provider, a database provider and an email delivery provider. They process data on our instructions in order to make the site work.

We may disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the safety or rights of a person.

Cookies

This site sets one cookie. It holds a random session identifier so you stay signed in, it is marked HttpOnly and SameSite so other sites cannot read it, and it expires after thirty days. It carries no personal information and is not used for advertising or analytics.

How long we keep things

Account and listing records are kept while your account is open. Inquiry records are kept as part of the transaction history of a listing, which real estate record keeping obligations in Florida require us to retain. Sign in throttling records expire automatically within hours.

Your choices

You can edit your name and phone number from your dashboard at any time, and change or reset your password. To request a copy of what we hold about you, or to ask for your account and its data to be deleted, contact us using the details below. Some records tied to a completed real estate transaction may need to be retained to meet regulatory obligations, and where that applies we will tell you.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means the revised policy applies.
